Date: Sunday, September 27th - Saturday, October 3rd, 2015

Cost: $1000, limited to 8 participants

For this tour we will concentrate on the fantastic areas western Upper Michigan.  I have been coming up to this area since the late 1990's.  Places we may explore are the Porcupine Mountains as well as some of the hidden waterfalls in the area.  We will shoot from before sunrise to a little before lunch.  Then we will start up in the afternoon and finish up after sunset.  If the midday light cooperates we may shoot thru lunch if you would prefer.  There will be early mornings and late nights possibly.  Being on the far western edge of the Eastern Time zone makes it bearable.  Itinerary is extremely flexible as weather is unpredictable and we'll try to be in the right places for the conditions.  We will meet up Sunday at 12 at a to be determined location.  The tour will conclude late Saturday morning after a morning shoot.

Important Information:

All camera formats and experience levels are welcome.  I have experience and have made images with 4x5, medium format, 35mm and digital.

Bring clothing suited for a variety of temperatures, from cold, frosty mornings to warm afternoons. Also be prepared for potential rain and for active weather.  Lake Superior can be very unpredictable.

Food, lodging and transportation are not included. Some of you may want to camp, some stay in a hotel, some may want to eat with the group while other may prefer to be on their own. This arrangement provides for maximum flexibility while keeping the cost of this workshop to a minimum. It will gives you maximum freedom in planning your meals and give you time by yourself if you choose.  I can give recommendations for lodging.

A passenger car is suitable for these workshops since we will not drive on 4 wheel drive roads during the workshop. However, if you rent a car, we recommend you rent an SUV as it is more suited to this kind of activity.
